STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Board Of Education- Sayreville, New Jersey

In 2006, The goodworx Foundation received approval from the Sayreville Board of Education to conduct an after-school program at the Sayreville Middle School for 6th and 7th grade students. The GoodWorx Foundation, using their MTC philosophy, built a unique after-school program centered on 10 key life skills seminars. Response was immediately felt by students, parents, teachers, and administrators. By 2008, The goodworx MTC program expanded into the Samsel Upper Elementary school and to date, has provided service to over 400 children between the ages of 8 and 14. Ultimately, it is the goal of The goodworx Foundation to expand into all elementary schools within the Sayreville School District providing school-based mentoring programs at every academic level.

New Jersey City University

The goodworx Foundation is currently working with New Jersey City University in providing support for the NCAA CHAMPS Life Skills Program. The foundation integrates The MTC Program’s unique philosophy into a university-based program providing life coaching sessions centered on 10 key life skills seminars. After the initial pilot program’s success, The GoodWorx Foundation and NJCU are focusing their efforts into expanding the program in order to reach over 25% of all student athletes enrolled at the university. Looking forward to a five-year plan, both, GWx and NJCU, hope to have a profound impact on the lives of the students while enriching the overall undergraduate experience.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The goodworx Foundation is a community-based organization that seeks to make a difference in the lives of youth in communities accross the country. Since 2004, we have been successful in developing our core, flagship MTC program into thriving after-school and university based programs throughout the state of New Jersey.

To provide the best, most comprehensive, and effective programming, The goodworx Foundation enters into strategic partnerships with local, regional, and national organizations. Our partners share the desire to help at-risk youth develop the full potential that is inside every child. With their support, The GoodWorx Foundation, and its programs, have been able to affect the lives of many more children and young adults through these multi-channel partnerships.

Gerdau Ameristeel-

Workers at the Gerdau Ameristeel steel mill in Sayreville, New Jersey are again volunteering in The GoodWorx Foundation’s innovative “Mentoring, Tutoring and Coaching” (MTC) After-School Program in Sayreville schools, which supports at-risk youth in the community. Gerdau Ameristeel entered into a strategic partnership with The GoodWorx Foundation in 2008 to mentor Sayreville area students. This year’s program, which includes eight mentors from Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville, will be launched on March 11.

Under the partnership between Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville and the Foundation, more than 150 at-risk youth have been serviced over the past two years at district schools. The MTC After-School Program is based on a philosophy shared by both organizations of broadening the horizons of Sayreville youth through a unique combination of mentoring, tutoring and coaching. The program enhances life skills for at-risk youth, empowers them to realize their full potential and gives them confidence to pursue their dreams.

In addition to providing mentors, Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville has also made annual monetary contributions to the program since 2008. As part of Sayreville Day celebrations, it also sponsors the GoodWorx “Green Team”, bringing together Sayreville students to clean up the riverfront and other areas during the summer.

Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville has a long-standing commitment to area students. As New Jersey’s single largest recycler, the mill sponsors a Recycling Poster contest at a local school to increase environmental awareness. It also recently donated $8,000 to paint the floor of a new high school gymnasium at a Sayreville school.

Both Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville and The GoodWorx Foundation expect their partnership to continue growing in the years ahead. “We are a partnership for the long haul, for the children of Sayreville,” says Michael Chevalier, manager of Human Resources at Gerdau Ameristeel-Sayreville.

Sayreville Alliance For Family Education (S.A.F.E.)

The mission of the Sayreville Alliance for Family Education - S.A.F.E. - is to address alcoholism and drug abuse and their related problems through prevention, education, and collaboration. We increase awareness and educate our community through Alliance sponsored activities. We want to provide a safe and healthy community for our children. We want our parents to recognize early symptoms of alcohol and drug abuse. We want our community to know the effects of alcohol and drug abuse. We want our children to understand its okay to say no, and we want to offer our children healthy alternatives.

To achieve these goals we have established a network of private citizens, community leaders, and various human service agencies that are dedicated to a comprehensive and coordinated effort in which the promotion and support of drug and alcohol prevention education programs and related activities are enforced. SAFE has provided grant and other resource support to the goodworx Foundation MTC program since 2007. SAFE continues to be a major supportor and future collaborative partner in many activities within the Sayreville community.

First Baptist Church of West Orange, New Jersey

Through Board member Charles Brown, The goodworx Foundation has been blessed to have the support of The First Baptist Church of South Orange. Beginning in 2009, contributions from First baptist have been allocated directly to our summer programs. Providing service to over 50 children over the last 2 years, First Baptist has enabled our programming to bring kids on campus at New Jersey City University for sports clinics and help support our first annual "Imagine That" Art Appreciation program in Sayreville, NJ. Our summer 2010 Art Appreciation summer camp initiative would not have been possible without their timely support and shared mission of affecting the lives of youth in communities accross New Jersey.
