TOGETHER WE CAN Parent Partnership Program
The goodworx Foundation “Together We Can” program promotes parental involvement in MTC Program child/parent activities, parent conferences, and community service events. Additionally, The goodworx Foundation has come to realize that the best way to make a positive, long-lasting impact on a child is to ensure that the family unit is as healthy as possible. In an effort to ensure this, we have introduced the “Parent Partnership” Program and will host weekly activities, monthly meetings and special events to help strengthen family relationships and to get everyone involved with the goodworx family.
Weekly Family Fun Nights
Each week, goodworx will host Family Fun Nights immediately following regular goodworx programming. Families can sign up and participate in various activities including board games, sports, arts and crafts, improvisational games and karaoke! Because Family Fun Nights will be held immediately after regular programming and families will not have time to go home and make dinner, meals will be provided at the event. It will be a fantastic opportunity for families to spend time together as well as with other goodworx families and goodworx staff.
Homework Clinics
The goodworx Foundation will be working with Samsel Upper Elementary School to provide parents with periodic Homework Clinics. During these clinics, parents can come speak to teachers at the SUES about the material that their child is currently studying. Years after graduating high school, it sometimes becomes difficult to remember what we learned in grammar school. Homework clinics can help refresh our memories to better assist children with their academic work.
Dog Days
During warmer weather, parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with goodworx staff and their canine companions at the Sayreville Dog Park each month. During a designated time, everyone will meet at the park and enjoy the weather with family, friends, and, of course, their dogs!
Family Dinner Night
After long days at the office or school and endless after-school activities, it can sometimes be difficult to get everyone together for a meal. This year, goodworx will be hosting Family Dinner Nights, where families can come and enjoy a family-style meal without having to do any of the cooking!
Community Service Trips
Each month, goodworx participates in a community service activity with our students. This year, goodworx will be extending the invitation to parents as well. As long as we can accommodate large numbers, goodworx will be inviting parents to participate in our rewarding community service activities along with the students. It will be a great experience that your family will never forget!
Monthly Parent Meetings
The goodworx Foundation believes that, in order to progress in our programming, we must get feedback from our students and their families. At our monthly parent meetings, parents will be able to provide their input and opinions regarding our daily programming, trips and events. These meetings will also allow parents to stay up-to-date with all things goodworx and contribute their ideas for fundraisers, events, and the overall improvement of our programming.
