About GoodWorx

History

The goodworx Foundation was founded in 2005 with a mission to serve to others. Specifically, we are dedicated to guiding, serving, and teaching youth new ways to conceive their own realities. To that end, The Goodworx Foundation created The MTC Program. The Philosophy of The MTC Program is to broaden the horizons of today’s youth utilizing a unique blend of Mentoring, Tutoring, and Life-Skills Coaching (MTC). This effective combination serves to enhance life skills including focus, tolerance, and understanding to help youth realize their full potential and instill within them the confidence necessary to pursue their dreams.

The Goodworx Foundation History Timeline

2006

Established The Goodworx Foundation MTC Program (Meet The Child/ Mentoring, Tutoring, Life-Coaching) in 2006.

2007

The Goodworx Foundation MTC Program partnered with the Sayreville Middle School and The Sayreville Board of Education to provide after-school programming for 6th and 7th grade students. Programming focused on enhancing life skills to help youth realize their full potential by incorporating the unique blend of mentoring, tutoring, and life-coaching with a recreation component as well.

The Goodworx Foundation MTC Program partnered with New Jersey City University to support the initiative of the NCAA CHAMPS Life Skills Program. The partnership objectives included student retention and the enrichment of the undergraduate experience. The Goodworx Foundation integrated the core component of its mentoring technique, life coaching, into the university-based program in order to have the greatest positive impact on the student-athletes involved.

The Goodworx Foundation MTC Program announced its initiative to provide additional services for 8th and 9th grade students. The programming focus is on the transition from middle school to high school, as well as the four-year preparation essential for a successful transition into higher education. This program initiative became the “Onward & Upward” program and counseled all of the Goodworx MTC participants in 8th grade who were entering High School the next year.

2007-2008

The Goodworx Foundation expanded its partnership within the Sayreville School District to include the Samsel Upper Elementary School providing after-school programming for 4th and 5th graders.

2008-2009

The Goodworx Foundation introduced three additional specialty programs to compliment its core MTC program. These programs included the “Read Something” Literacy Initiative, the “Imagine That” Art Appreciation Program, and the “Goodworx Gang” Prevention Initiative.

2009-2010

The Goodworx Foundation MTC After-School Program reaches the milestone of servicing over 400 children since inception. The Goodworx University-Based Life-Skills Program enters its fourth year and has counseled over 200 student-athletes since 2007.
